Cinderella

Kim Whittia came to perform the story of Cinderella at Bradford School on Monday morning.

We were very surprised and excited when Kim told us that everyone in the school would have a part in the play.

Children from Room Five and Six danced at the ball.

Until the clock struck twelve!

Prince Charming searched for the beautiful girl who owned the slipper.

Room Six dance at Cinderella's wedding.

Why does my heart beat?

The heart pumps blood around your body, from your head down to your toes.

Your heart is about the size of your fist and is made of muscle.

Your heart is tucked under lungs. Your lungs give your heart a cuddle.

Touch your neck under your chin. Can you feel the blood flowing through an artery to your brain?

Otago Nuggets Visit Bradford Miniball Players

Last week we had a visit from Brent Charleton and Lamar Gayle from the Otago Nuggets. They worked with our enthusiastic miniball players. The children practised many of the skills related to miniball including dribbling, passing, catching, and shooting techniques.

The miniball players would like to thank Mrs Pask for organising the Otago Nugget players to come and visit Bradford School. We hope they can come back again next term. It was really cool learning how to hold the ball correctly to shoot hoops .

What Lies Beneath My Amazing Human Body?

Room Six started our inquiry unit by making human bodies.

Briarna and Falefia are working quietly cutting out their body parts.

Breana and Samara search the internet to help them place the body organs on their bodies.

Tama and Riley were first to finish their human bodies.

Doctor Margaret came to visit us with her friend Mr Bones. She brought some models of body organs. Did you know that the heart is hollow? Doctor Margaret answered lots of our questions about the human body.

Doctor Samara is using a stethoscope to listen to Elle's heart beat. We all enjoyed Doctor Margaret's visit and hope she will come back and talk to us again.

Our inquiry to find out how our lunch box is destroying our planet

So far we have found out if each class in our school threw out the same amount of rubbish each day that we are at the moment, that would be a whole lot of rubbish. Take a look at the photo of the rubbish we collected from one classroom after one day!

We would like to know:
How much rubbish do you think would you throw away each day ?
Do you think rubbish would destroy our planet ?
If everyone started to recycle would you ?
